Serving our youngest patients throughout the Midwest region, our team provides specialized care for children through 18 years of age with epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, stroke, headache, neurodevelopmental and genetic disorders.   

Our neurology team consists of 16 child neurologists, 5 APP’s, and additional specialists. The successful candidate will enjoy work/life balance with an equally shared call schedule and professional fulfillment with responsibility for clinical service as well as resident and fellow education, and CME presentations. The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine is announcing the search for a Medical Director of the Riley Early Years Program.  The Riley Early Years Program is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary NICU follow-up program for graduates of the Riley NICU system, in addition to serving other high risk infants with developmental delays or specialized feeding needs. The Riley Early Years Program encompasses Infant Growth and Development Clinic and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Clinic, where patients are co-managed with pediatric pulmonology.  In 2023, the Early Years Program had, on average, 200 patient visits per month between 2 clinical sites.

The Riley Early Years Medical Director will be responsible for:
•    Leading a large multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists, nurses, registered dietitians, social workers
•    Leading collaborations with speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists
•    Refining and developing new clinical pathways for early identification and management of cerebral palsy, autism, oropharyngeal dysphagia and other developmental disorders
•    Providing outreach to community pediatric providers to support evidence-based primary care for high risk infants leaving the NICU
•    Overseeing operations of growing telehealth programs
•    Supporting the education of medical students, residents and fellows in the care of the medically complex infant

Our patient population draws throughout the state, encompassing diverse backgrounds and cultures at multiple sites within our large health system.  The pediatric hospitalist care team sees patients at Riley Hospital in downtown Indianapolis, our quaternary care center, and community hospitals IU North Hospital in Carmel, IU West Hospital in Avon, and IU Southern Indiana Hospital in Bloomington. The next IU Health facility to add Riley Children's pediatric hospital medicine service is IU Saxony Hospital located in the northeast suburb of Indianapolis, in Fishers, IN.

Riley Children's Health is announcing a new pediatric hospitalist service at Indiana University Health in Bloomington, IN. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for five pediatricians or med/peds to join the state's premier pediatric hospital program while contributing to Riley Children's mission and strategic growth initiative for providing closer access to care for our patients in southern Indiana.  

Highlights

  • Clinical care covering the 6-bed pediatric inpatient unit, normal newborn nursery care, and ED consults for pediatric patients, as needed.   
  • Primary practice location at the newly opened IU Health Bloomington hospital (75-100%). Opportunities for growth through clinical coverage as staffing allows at Riley in Indianapolis, IU North in Carmel, and IU West in Avon

Position Details:

  • Full time, Otolaryngology opportunity 
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, Call: up to 4 weeks a year - includes call from home to provide back up call to residents
  • Typical work week includes 3 days of clinic with established general ENT patients, 1-2 days in operating room, and a half of day of admin/academic time
  • Practice location: Riley Hospital and IU Health North Hospital 
  • Responsibilities include clinical duties as well as teaching of surgical residents and medical students
  • Willingness to accept learners, no research requirements
  • Immediate high volume patient panel

Minimum job requirements (qualifications)

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Otolaryngology
  • Pediatric OHNS required 
  • Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure in Indiana

Location: Indianapolis, IN - Specialty: Pediatric, Neurology

The Division of Pediatric Neurology is seeking an additional Pediatric Stroke Neurologist, to care for patients at Riley Hospital for Children. Serving patients throughout the Midwest region, our team provides specialized care for children through 18 years of age with the latest acute and chronic stroke care, medical and interventional treatments.  

Our Pediatric Stroke team is a collaboration between our Pediatric Neurovascular Surgeons, Pediatric Neurointensivists, and Neuro-Interventionalists. Our neurology team consists of 16 child neurologists, 5 APP’s, and additional specialists. The Indiana University & IU Health Neuroscience Institute also provides research opportunities and collaboration for basic, translational, and clinical research.

The successful candidate will enjoy work/life balance with an equally shared call schedule and professional fulfillment with responsibility for clinical service as well as resident and fellow education, and CME presentations. Qualifications:

  • PRN pediatric hospitalist with variety of schedule options including but not limited to:
    • Weekends
    • Week nights
  • 100% inpatient, in-house coverage
  • Inpatient pediatric patients observation, normal newborns
