Position Details:

Due to a retirement, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine in conjunction with IU Health Physicians, are recruiting an experienced dermatopathologist to fulfill the role of director of dermatopathology.
The individual selected will be based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL).  Anatomic pathology is now comprised of over fifty pathologists, with a plan for continued expansion. The dermatopathology division has 6 board certified dermatopathologists and serves 8 hospitals in the IU Health Hospital system and Eskenazi Health (affiliate county hospital).  The dermatopathology division supports a comprehensive dermatopathology fellowship training program for up to 2 fellows per year.  A team of 9 certified pathologist assistants and 2 grossing technicians serve as support to the anatomic pathology faculty including dermatopathology.  The ability to recruit and attract top talent to the growing department has been strong over the past 18 months. The ideal candidate will arrive at a freshly renovated histology and immunohistochemistry laboratories designed to accommodate the integration of digital pathology into the practice. Pathologists also have open access to a research histology/immunochemistry pathology core for clinical and translational endeavors.  These factors afford our new director of dermatopathology the rare opportunity to build and innovate.

IU Health Physicians in conjunction with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, and team-oriented physician for the position of Director of the Molecular Pathology Division.  This position will focus on shaping and further developing molecular pathology diagnostics and providing molecular pathology leadership in institutional genomics programs such as Precision Health Initiative.  The priority is the same somatic genetic testing and companion diagnostics in solid tumors including the development and validation of new diagnostics assays using NGS, PCR, FISH, and other molecular techniques. Candidates with established molecular pathology experience including NGS assay development and strong clinical or translational research interests encouraged to apply.

As a result, this position will have strong mentoring support from the chair and vice chairs in the department. The chosen incumbent will be offered the ability to select a department funded leadership coach that is external to the institution. This coach will provide professional development, mentoring, and will serve as an independent aid in learning and development. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSOM) in conjunction with IU Health Physicians, is seeking a neuropathologist with strong diagnostic skills to join our team.  This individual will be based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL).  The neuropathology division is part of robust, subspecialized anatomic pathology group of greater than 50 pathologists with a plan for expansion.    This division serves 10 hospitals within the IU Health network, Eskenazi Health and Roudebush VA Medical Center resulting in an excellent case mix.  Pediatric neuropathology is associated with Riley Children's Health, the only comprehensive pediatric hospital in the state with an active neurosurgery service.  This division supports comprehensive neuropathology fellowship training program for up to 2 fellows per year.   The division also supports the academic and research missions of the IUSOM which includes the Stark Neuroscience Center, Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Center and IU Health Neuroscience Center. 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional diagnostic services within neuropathology
  • Provide on-call coverage and conference support with department faculty members
