  • Patient volume: 12/day in ICU

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting intensivists in the ICU

Qualifications:

Our team assists in the care of all children within the pediatric ICU. Assuming primary responsibility for the chronic ventilation patients in the ICU, all the solid organ transplant patients, as well as some lower acuity general ICU patients in times of peak census

  • Full time
  • Rotating shifts
    • Primarily days, with 2-3 night shifts per month
    • 2 weekend shifts per month
  • 100% inpatient

  • Team includes 27 physicians, 7 APPs, and 8 fellows
    • 2 APPs staffed every day shift, 1 every night shift 
  • Procedures include central line insertions and arterial insertions at minimum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for chronic ventilator patients and solid organ transplant patients; responsible for attending all CART calls within the hospital, assess patients in ED for need of ICU admission, and perform central line and arterial line insertion.
  • Carry own patient load and act as the rapid response team for the hospitals.
  • Round on the PICU patients being cared for by the resident physicians.

Qualifications:

  • ACNP, FNP, PNP, or PA certification required.
  • Ideal candidate would be an experienced AC-PNP or PA with experience in pediatric critical care
  • Clinical experience in inpatient pediatrics required, preferably in critical care.
