The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Health Physicians seeks a highly motivated pathologist/clinical microbiologist to oversee testing within the Division of Clinical Microbiology at the Indiana University Health Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL). The IU Health Pathology Lab, which is located in downtown Indianapolis, serves as a centralized anatomic and clinical pathology testing facility for numerous IU Health hospitals, including five Indianapolis metropolitan hospitals and clinics throughout the state of Indiana. Overall, the IUHPL performs roughly 15 million diagnostic tests annually, and it is staffed by approximately 60 full-time pathologists and clinical scientists. Laboratory leadership are world-renowned experts in their respective disciplines who also serve as IU School of Medicine faculty.

The Division of Clinical Microbiology utilizes the latest in infectious disease diagnostics, including laboratory automation, and evaluates emerging technologies in order to best serve our continually expanding patient base. The high specimen volume and broad diversity of infectious diseases diagnosed by our laboratory lends to numerous educational opportunities. As such, the Division offers both an ACGME-accredited fellowship in medical microbiology and a CPEP-accredited post-doctoral fellowship in medical and public health laboratory microbiology. Additionally, there are educational opportunities offered by our pathology residency, clinical laboratory science, infectious disease pharmacy, and adult and pediatric infectious disease training programs. The Division also actively participates in industry-sponsored research and development, including FDA clinical trials for new laboratory instrumentation and diagnostic tests.

The position is open to pathologists with or without an interest in pursuing an academic career in pathology. The position is on the clinical track; academic rank is determined by qualifications and level of experience.

Job Summary:

The Divisions are responsible for transfusion services, apheresis as well as cellular therapy processing and adult collection facilities. The Pathology group serves ten hospitals, including IU Health Methodist Hospital, IU Health University Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, IU Health West Medical Center, IU Health North Medical Center, IU Health Saxony, IU Health Arnett Hospital, IU Health White County, the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, and Eskenazi Health. Basic Qualifications:

Operating out of the department's clinical headquarters at the 150,000 square foot pathology lab, this newly created position offers the ability to collaborate with a cadre of subspecialized pathologists. The state-wide IU Health Laboratory system also includes pathologists practicing in community-based environments who receive the support of colleagues practicing in the enriched environment created by an academic health center.

In 2019, the group accessioned 100,000 surgical pathology cases, approximately 25% of which were GI mucosal biopsies. The University has a very robust transplant program including busy liver and small bowel transplant services.

The 17-hospital IU Health Laboratory System is served by over 70 pathologists and is growing.  This clinical or academic track faculty position is based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory. The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy and Sleep Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine / Riley Hospital for Children is recruiting for a board-certified/ board-eligible allergist to join the team in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Committed to clinical excellence, Riley's allergy program is led by three pediatric allergy physicians and two nurse practitioners.  Our team participates in multidisciplinary programs such as the Gastrointestinal Digestive Disease Program and the High-Risk Ashthma Program.  The allergy program at Riley conducts 200 oral food challenges each year - more than any other facility in the state.  We are also designated as a center of excellence by the Food Allergy Research and Education Network.  Allergy physicians at Riley are involved in trials of food immunotherapy and in nationally recognized studies of the developing airway microbiome.  A leader in clinical care, teaching, research and advocacy in pediatric respiratory medicine, Riley at IU Health Pulmonology, Allergy and Sleep Medicine is ranked among the top 20 pediatric pulmonology programs in the nation by U.S. News World & Report.

The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Cardiology at IU Health is seeking a full-time Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiologist to join the dynamic Cardiology team at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Ranked fifth in the nation by the U.S. News World & Report, the Riley Heart Center is one of the most highly respected programs for diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart conditions in children. For 2019, we performed 11,882 outpatient cardiology visits and provided 17,938 echocardiogram interpretations. Care within the Heart Center is managed by a highly skilled and experienced team of specialists, including cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiovascular critical care specialists, cardiovascular anesthesiologists, neonatologists and adult cardiologists specializing in congenital heart disease. The Riley Heart Center is currently one of only seven pediatric heart programs in the U.S. with the highest quality rating (three-star) from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS).
