  • Assisting the surgeons in the OR with a wide range of brain and spine surgeries.
  • Assist treating neurological disorders in clinic including neck and back pain, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, and peripheral nerve diseases.
  • Assist with new consults in the hospital from the ER and on the floors.
  • Typical day would include 1-3 surgeries per day alongside our neurosurgeons. Will help round on post op patients and see new consults in the hospital as well.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree required.

  • 95% outpatient in clinic
  • 5% inpatient consults (PRN)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care to the gyn oncology patient population in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team in the ambulatory/clinic/office setting. 
  • Maintains an advanced knowledge base and skills in health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, physical and psychosocial assessment, and management of health and illness in the health care of individuals.
  • Will care for gyn oncology patients in the office setting. 
  • Will see follow up post-op, survivorship, and surveillance patients and will address any immediate triage concerns with an office or phone visit. 
  • 3 days per week, APP will work in tandem with the surgeons in their designated ambulatory clinics seeing the patients as the residents do: seeing the next patient in line, presenting to MD, writing notes. 
  • One day per week, APP will prepare and document a plan for each patient presented at tumor board
  • One day per week, APP will have own independent clinic. 

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Required
  • Must be Board Certified
  • Must have a fundamental knowledge of gynecologic cancers, management of said cancers, and the ability to make sound medical decisions based on this knowledge in collaboration with the Gyn Oncology physician team.
  • At least 5 years clinical expertise in Oncology care required
  • Ambulatory setting experience preferred

The Women's Center at Indiana University Health West provides specialized care and attention all under one roof.

The full continuum of care for women of all ages is provided at IU Health West Hospital. For example, a patient is able to see her physician for her annual exam, as well as make an appointment with a breast specialist for a follow-up mammogram. Another is able to enroll in childbirth education classes, then deliver her baby in a setting that encourages her to create her ideal birth experience. Yet another woman may see a specialist about urinary incontinence, and then go on to take advantage of additional services offered at IU Health West Hospital. All of this is provided in one, convenient location that is close to home.
