Career Details

  • Full Time with Call Participation

    • Work within a multidisciplinary team including medical and radiation oncologists, anesthesiologists, surgical teams, pathologists, geneticists and support staff
  • *Future academic leadership opportunity exists as the Gynecology Oncology Fellowship program is re-established within the division
  • Faculty appointment with the IU School of Medicine, with expectation to be active participants in the Departmental and Divisional teaching program, which includes 41 residents and 350 Indiana University medical students annually. 

Salary is commensurate with experience and training.  A mix of clinical duties, adminstrative responsibilities, and research is available.  A job description can be tailored to the strengths and interests of the candidate. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical educational and multidisciplinary team coordination services.

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • Provide medical supervision of the interdisciplinary team and supervises residents and medical students in all aspects of their assigned duties.

  • Administration and oversight of chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy.
  • Selection of appropriate candidates for cellular based therapy.
  • Preparation, treatment, and management of patients through autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Participating in CAR T-cell and other immune effector cell therapy.
  • Management of complications of therapy listed above.
  • Participation in clinical trials.
  • Participation in bone marrow transplant team activities.
  • Teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students. Participation in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Procedures performed (avg of 15 per week): Bone marrow biopsies, bone marrow harvest, stem cell and bone marrow transplantation, immune effector cell infusion.

Location: Indianapolis, IN - Specialty: Infectious Disease

Indiana University School of Medicine seeks a strong academic leader for the Director of Division of Infectious Diseases at the Department of Medicine.

The Division of Infectious Diseases consists of 29 faculty members who have numerous close clinical and research associations with other departments. Some other highlights:

  • Clinical practice takes place at five hospitals within the Indiana University Health (IUH) System as well as at Eskenazi Health Hospital (County Hospital) and the Roudebush VA.
  • The Division has a rich history in research and currently has in excess of $4.7 million in extramural funding from the NIH, CDC, and industry.
  • The Infectious Diseases Division plays an active role in the education of learners from the medical student level through fellowship.
  • The ID Division holds a T32 postdoctoral research training grant entitled “Sexually Transmitted Infections and other infections of Global Health Significance”.
  • The division footprint includes 8,417 square feet of administrative space and 7,280 square feet of research space.
  • The ID Division holds several endowments including an endowed chair, and endowed fellowship position, and an endowment which supports research related to HIV.
  • In addition, the Medical School has access to endowment money and additional resources, specifically for the recruitment of physician scientists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Division in its missions of research, clinical care, and education, including development of and implementation of the strategic plan for the division
  • Oversee budgeting and resource management
  • Recruit superior faculty to implement the Division’s programs, with the goal of doubling the Division’s funded research portfolio over the next 5 years
  • Oversee development and mentoring of the faculty
  • Work collaboratively with the ID Division’s Service Line Leader to enhance the patient care mission.
  • Work collaboratively with the Fellowship Program Director and the KCE to support and expand the educational mission of the division
  • Conduct annual faculty performance evaluations and create development plans in accordance with Indiana University School of Medicine policy
  • Participate in clinical service to the degree desired

Location: Indianapolis, IN - Specialty: Maternal Fetal Medicine

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time faculty provider with fetal intervention training to help establish the first fetal intervention program in the state of Indiana. This program is a joint effort between Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology and other pediatric subspecialties. The new program will be housed at Riley Maternity and Newborn Health.

The MFM division, currently with 10 full-time MFM faculty members, provides inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as primary comprehensive care of high-risk pregnancies, fetal ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and limited invasive fetal treatment (PUBs/IUT). The MFM Division is affiliated with Indiana University Health and Riley Hospital for Children, one of the top children's hospitals in the United States.

The Maternal Fetal Physician group operates as an integrated group serving referring providers at four IU Health System Hospitals throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area and Eskenazi Health. The combined annual deliveries for the integrated system exceed 19,000. The IU MFM group and the Level IV NICU at Riley also serve as the tertiary care referral center for the entire state of Indiana, and IU Health has one of the largest fleet of helicopter medical transport services in the nation with a dedicated Lifeline maternal transport program.

The MFM Division has a record of ongoing production of basic science, clinical/translational, and epidemiologic research, including membership in the Nulliparous Network of the NICHD. In addition, we have long-standing partnerships with the prestigious Regenstrief Institute for informatics and healthcare research in Indianapolis.  Faculty are expected to be active participants in the Departmental and Divisional teaching program, which includes 41 residents and 350 Indiana University medical students annually.  

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics/Gynecology AND Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Strong interest in clinical medicine, teaching and/or research
  • Additional experience in fetal intervention required 
  • Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure in Indiana
