IU Health Physicians is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Geriatrician to support various Geriatric models of care, including inpatient Geriatric consultation/Mobile Acute Care for Elderly, outpatient Geriatric consultations and primary care, and attending at nursing homes at several IU Health locations around Indianapolis. This position allows a candidate to be a part of the largest and most comprehensive health system in Indiana and in a specialty that is ranked among the nation's top bests by US News and World Report.   • Faculty appointment with the IU School of Medicine, with expectation to be active participants in the Departmental and Divisional teaching program, which includes 41 residents and 350 Indiana University medical students annually.

Location: Indianapolis, IN - Specialty: Hematology/Oncology

IU Health is seeking a Breast Hematology/Oncologist to join our IU School of Medicine team in Indianapolis! Practice at our well-known, Simon Cancer Center in downtown Indianapolis as well as our brand new cancer center in Carmel, IN! A great opportunity with a mix of clinical and academics.

  • Full-time (M-F)
  • Call Schedule: Once every 7th weekend
  • 50% clinical, 50% academic
  • 80% outpatient, 20% inpatient
  • Inpatient work at Eskenazi Hospital
  • Subspecialty: Breast Oncology
  • Academic practice with focus on clinical care, research and education. 
  • Practice comprised on hematology/oncology subspecialists focusing in 13 disease-focused programs. 
  • IU Simon Cancer Center has a national reputation and pulls patients from the entire state and beyond.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent judgement in diagnosis and treatment of patients, formulation of treatment plans, and direction of the interdisciplinary team in achieving the goals of the patient care plan
  • Oversee the interdisciplinary team and residents/ medical students in all aspects of their assigned duties
  • Provide medical educational and multidisciplinary team coordination services
  • Participate in clinical research projects of interest in cooperation with the medical research department
  • Faculty are expected to participate in the fellowship and residency teaching roles with opporutnities available for medical student teaching.
  • Engagment with clinical research is expected (a robust community of academic scholars is available for collaboration).

  • Must be BE/BC in Hematology/Oncology
