Position Details:

  • Full Time (part time will be considered)
  • Rotating schedule (days, nights, and weekends)
  • Call schedule: 1:4, approximately 7-24h call shifts monthly
  • Office schedule: approximate 8 full office days per month
  • 50% inpatient/50% outpatient
  • Opportunity to engage in resident education and promote midwifery in an academic health setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Principal responsibilities include full-scope obstetrical, well-woman gynecological healthcare and family planning in a practice that will provide 24/7 call coverage and attend in-hospital births. 
  • Additional responsibilities will include management of Labor and Delivery Triage in an academic health center, educating residents and medical/midwifery/nurse practitioner students, developing ambulatory service programs, participating in community outreach and departmental activities. 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required
  • 2 years of CNM experience required
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing evidence-based practice, community and professional standards with every woman’s personal health perspective across the lifespan – and will be supportive of the full-spectrum of reproductive choices.
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to provide compassionate care, comfortably and confidently in a fast-paced environment, will support the growth of midwifery practice within the IU Health system and will demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, teaching and patient care skills.
