Position Details:

The Department of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University is seeking a faculty position for a spinal fellowship trained neurosurgeon with expertise in Adult deformity surgery.

  • Must possess the ability to develop a combined Orthopedic/Neurosurgery Spine Center of Excellence
  • Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to secure funded research in the area of Spinal Deformity
  • Primary duties include participation in and expansion of established comprehensive spine care and general neurological surgery
  • Leadership position and duties include program building; direct clinical care; and teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students
  • The successful applicant will be expected to lead the multidisciplinary comprehensive spine center, engage in academic pursuits and perform clinical or basic research, maintain current funding and secure future funding

Basic Qualifications Applicants must be fellowship trained in spinal deformity neurosurgery and be eligible for an Indiana State Medical License.

Location: Indianapolis, IN - Specialty: Surgery, Trauma

We are searching for a new Division Chief for Acute Care Surgery, one of eight divisions in the Department of Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. Faculty from the Division of Acute Care Surgery provide trauma, critical care, and emergency general surgery care for the two Level I trauma centers on the IU Campus. The Division Chief would also be Chief of Trauma at IU health Methodist Hospital, a trauma program that sees approximately 3700 trauma admissions annually. The second Level I trauma center on the campus, the Eskenazi Health Hospital, is a county hospital that sees 1700 trauma patients annually with a rate of penetrating trauma approaching 40%. The Division of Acute Care Surgery currently has 20 full time faculty.

Surgeons will be working in an academic hospital and affiliated community hospitals in the Indiana University Health network. The Indiana University Health Physicians network is one of the premier tertiary centers in the state of Indiana.

Candidates will be responsible for providing patient care, teaching residents and students in their specialty of trauma surgery and participating in clinical research in one of the largest medical schools in the country.
