Indiana University Health Physicians has an Orthopedic Joint Replacement Surgeon opening at IU Health West Hospital in the western Indianapolis suburb of Avon, IN. Avon is conveniently located only 13 miles from downtown Indianapolis. This position has a projected start date of summer/fall 2021.

Position Details:

  • Full time
  • Schedule: varies
  • On-Call: Shared coverage for general ortho call at suburb hospital
  • 50% Inpatient/ 50% Outpatient
  • Responsibilities:
    • Hip and knee replacements – both primary and revisions
    • Work with section and department leaders to expand joint replacement services for West Central Region.
    • Work collaboratively with local primary care teams and rehab/short term care facilities

The Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a fellowship-trained Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon to join our growing orthopedic team.  Members of the orthopedic department practice as part of Indiana University Health Physicians, a 2000+ person multispecialty group that works in 16 hospitals and 6 ambulatory surgery centers.

Location: Indianapolis, IN - Specialty: Surgery, Trauma

We are searching for a new Division Chief for Acute Care Surgery, one of eight divisions in the Department of Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. Faculty from the Division of Acute Care Surgery provide trauma, critical care, and emergency general surgery care for the two Level I trauma centers on the IU Campus. The Division Chief would also be Chief of Trauma at IU health Methodist Hospital, a trauma program that sees approximately 3700 trauma admissions annually. The second Level I trauma center on the campus, the Eskenazi Health Hospital, is a county hospital that sees 1700 trauma patients annually with a rate of penetrating trauma approaching 40%. The Division of Acute Care Surgery currently has 20 full time faculty.

Surgeons will be working in an academic hospital and affiliated community hospitals in the Indiana University Health network. The Indiana University Health Physicians network is one of the premier tertiary centers in the state of Indiana.

Candidates will be responsible for providing patient care, teaching residents and students in their specialty of trauma surgery and participating in clinical research in one of the largest medical schools in the country.
