Location: Indianapolis, IN - Specialty: Radiology, Breast Imaging

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences with Indiana University Health Physicians is seeking a breast imaging radiologist for a clinical position.   The position will provide services at multiple academic and community hospitals and outpatient imaging facilities that are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including digital tomosynthesis, automated breast ultrasound and breast MR. 

  • The candidate will primarily work at dedicated breast imaging sites and will be responsible for basic general radiology coverage at some sites during the day and on call.  The department hosts a robust fellowship and residency training program. 
  • In addition to clinical work, responsibilities include teaching and lecturing residents and breast imaging fellows. 

    Applicant must be proficient in all phases of breast imaging including MRI and intervention.  Minimum requirements include DO or MD, eligible for licensure in Indiana, and radiology board certified or eligible.  Additionally, interest or experience in research, global health, population health/destination services, or IT expertise is desired but not required.

    The Department currently provides NIR coverage at a Level 1 Trauma and Primary / Thrombectomy capable stroke center with imminent plans to expand to a second Level 1 Trauma Center / Comprehensive Stroke Center.  The NIR group will also provide service for Riley Hospital for Children. All sites are in downtown Indianapolis, in close proximity to each other.

    Candidates with excellent interpersonal skills are desired.  Our Department is committed to multidisciplinary and team-based approaches to patient care.  The Department hosts robust fellowship and residency training programs.  A successful candidate would be expected to work effectively with learners at all levels of training.

    Strong consideration will be given to those who also demonstrate qualities that further the academic and research interests of the Department.  Protected academic time is available for those with active research.  Opportunities for practice building and collaboration abound at the academic health center.

    Proficiency in all neurointerventional procedures (including aneurysm coiling, flow diversion, intra-arterial treatment for stroke, AVM embolization, intracranial and extracranial angioplasty / stenting, vertebral augmentation) is desired.

The sports division currently works in 4 Indianapolis metro area hospitals and 3 ambulatory surgery centers.  We are looking to expand our division and have access to 6 Indianapolis metro area surgery centers with plenty of block time available day one.  The Sports Team can expect a high volume elective practice via our multispecialty group and IU Health Plan patients.  There is currently no call ER call requirement but sideline coverage is expected.
