The Division of Pediatric Critical Care at Indiana University School of Medicine is currently seeking one pediatric critical care intensivist to join our team. The position is primarily clinical, with shifts split between our Northside campus and downtown campus (predominantly North campus). Riley Hospital for Children is located in Indianapolis, Indiana where it boasts a state-of-the-art 42-bed pediatric intensive care unit at the downtown campus, an 18-bed cardiovascular critical care unit, and a 6-bed pediatric intensive care unit at IU Health North Hospital. The North campus is located about 15 miles from the downtown campus and the two are fully integrated meaning all children have access to the full breadth and depth of expertise that established Riley at IU Health as a national leader in pediatric healthcare. The PICU has approximately 2500 admissions per year at the downtown campus and admits 500 patients annually at the North campus.

The Division of Pediatric Palliative Medicine is a growing, inter-, and multidisciplinary team including social workers, nurses, advanced practice providers, and physicians, providing comprehensive care services for children with life-limiting or life-threatening medical conditions. Committed to helping patients experience the best possible quality of life, we support families in medical decision-making, goals of care discussions, advance directives, and complicated pain and symptom management. Our team also oversees end-of-life care for patients in pediatric hospices.

IU School of Medicine located in Indianapolis, has nine campuses across the state, educating the largest medical student body in the U.S. The division is integrated with the school of medicine students, pediatric categorical and combined residency programs, as well as the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a DO/MD, MD/PhD degree, or equivalent

The individual selected will join a team based at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.  The IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL) is located less than a mile from Riley Hospital for Children and is home to a large faculty of subspecialized academic pathologists, affording easy access to collaboration.  This opportunity provides the unique flexibility to sign-out on the adult service for those who wish to practice pediatric pathology at a dedicated children’s hospital while maintaining other subspecialty expertise.  Additionally, with the new onsite Maternity Tower at Riley, there are opportunities for growth in perinatal/placental evaluations.

Position Details:

  • Deliver professional diagnostic service comprising of anatomic pathology
