Position Highlights

• 168 shifts annually (mix of 12-hour days and nights, or can be structured into 24-hour shifts depending on team preference).
• Provide continuous inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units.
• Serve as operative backup for CNMs, including support for operative vaginal delivery, advanced laceration repair, and cesarean sections.
• Support the OBED during periods of high volume or acuity.
• Evaluate and manage consults from the ED and inpatient units.
• Perform key obstetric procedures including SVD, operative vaginal deliveries, VBAC management, and C-sections.
• Participate in urgent nighttime GYN surgeries when needed, with GYN backup available.
• Optional teaching opportunities with rotating medical students.

The center also offers magnetoencephalography (MEG), a noninvasive diagnostic test that measures brain activity and pinpoints the location of epileptiform activity through magnetic fields.
