IU Health Physicians is looking for a Pediatric Hematologist with a special focus on benign hematology, bleeding and clotting disorders, hemophilia to join the highly-skilled, dynamic team at the nationally-ranked Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Riley Hospital for Children is the only nationally ranked pediatric hematology/oncology program in the state of Indiana with the only pediatric stem cell transplant program and the only site offering pediatric CAR T-Cell therapy. The CCBD is affiliated with the IU Health Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, the state's only NCI designated cancer center for clinical care.  Riley at IU Health is a Children's Oncology Group Phase I Consortium member.  Our patients are able to access the latest clinical trials and cutting edge medications all while under the care of highly skilled physicians and staff.  We service the entire state of Indiana as well as bordering regions of Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky.  With comprehensive interdisciplinary disease-focused teams, doctors and staff treat more than 80% of children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer in Indiana, with a high volume of outpatient visits focusing on leukemias, solid tumors, brain tumors, hematopoietic/stem cell transplant, general hematology, hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell disease and thalassemias, bone marrow failure syndromes, hemophilia and other coagulation disorders.  

Position Details:

  • Full-time position with strong work/life balance supported by standard schedule and call coverage shared among large team of providers
  • Clinical duties will include time on a dedicated non-malignant hematology service for inpatient care/consultation as well as outpatient hematology clinic for follow-up care and consultation, including multidisciplinary comprehensive bleeding and thrombosis clinics

Location: Avon, IN - Specialty: Pediatric, Hospitalist

Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health and Indiana University School of Medicine are seeking to fill a Pediatric Hospitalist role in our dynamic team within a fast-paced clinical environment with strong focus on quality, innovation, teaching, and scholarly activity.  Serving more than 6,000 patients in 2019, Riley Hospital Medicine is committed to excellence in the care of hospitalized children.  Our team of more than 30 physicians continually strives to improve care through quality improvement, collaboration with inpatient specialists and primary care providers, community outreach, and the education and training of future healthcare providers.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily serving at IU Health West hospital to attend high risk deliveries on a labor and delivery unit with approximately 80-100 total deliveries per month, rounding on normal newborns, and staffing an 8 bed Level II NICU, which serves infants >32 weeks gestational age and >1500 grams at birth
  • Faculty appointment with the Indiana University School of Medicine 
    • Teaching on service (pediatric residents and PHM fellows)
    • Participation in departmental educational endeavors
    • Encouraged to participate in scholarly pursuits
  • Procedures include (but not limited to): circumcision, lumbar puncture

Riley Hospital for Children is looking to grow our program, ranked third in the country by U.S. News & World Report, by adding a Pediatric Urologist to the team.  Skilled in complex open, endoscopic and robotic urologic surgery, Riley urology surgeons specialize in treating conditions of the pediatric urinary tract (kidneys, ureter, bladder) and genitalia. All of our surgeons are fellowship trained and board certified in pediatric urology and are recognized leaders in the field.

Known for expertise in complex genital reconstruction, Riley at IU Health is designated as a Center of Surgical Excellence for surgical reconstruction for children born with congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Additionally, we are designated by the Association for the Bladder Exstrophy Community as one of 10 international Centers of Excellence for the care of children with bladder exstrophy.  Riley at IU Health has organized multidisciplinary clinics with specialists to assist in managing complex patients, including comprehensive programs to care for patients with spina bifida, stones, prenatal urologic anomalies and differences in sexual development. We are internationally recognized for our transitional program, ensuring that children's urologic needs are cared for appropriately as they become adults. The Riley Transitional Urology Clinic provides specialized services for patients requiring lifelong care and follow-up after surgery, and is one of only two such clinical programs in the nation based in a children's hospital.

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Indiana University School of Medicine has an opening for a Physicist position in downtown Indianapolis. This is a full-time position and will cover clinics in Indianapolis and surrounding communities. IU's Radiation Oncology faculty includes 13 clinical physicists, 14 radiation oncologists and 3 full-time researchers.   • Provide patients the opportunity to receive a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to their care including psychological interventions, physical and occupational therapy, mindfulness, nutrition, and alternative modalities such as yoga and acupuncture
  • Teaching opportunities with the Indiana University School of Medicine interns, medical students and psychiatry residents

Qualifications:

  • Residency training in Psychiatry
