IU Health Virtual Behavioral Health is looking to add a supplemental advanced practice provider to its staff in Indianapolis.  The Behavioral Health Hub offers 24/7 access to providers, social workers and therapists for our IU Health hospitals throughout the state.  As part of IU Health's strategic plan to improve the health of Hoosiers by focusing on mental health, we serve our hospitals and provide timely access to behavioral health care needs.

Join our patient focused practice in Indianapolis focusing on adults with substance abuse disorders and contributing psychiatric conditions.   We are seeking a collaborative, innovative Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work in collaboration with our multidisciplinary teams including Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, and our new comprehensive pain program.  Be an integral part of our outpatient substance abuse disorder services working with a diverse patient population!

  • Full time days, Monday-Friday
  • Provide outpatient care and work with a team consisting of a supervising physician, therapist, RN, peer recovery coach and MA.
  • Perform physical exams, order tests, diagnose and treat substance abuse and psychiatric disorders
  • Create treatment plans using a variety of resources including medication management, Medication Assisted Treatment, group and individual therapy, peer recovery services and other supportive interventions. 

¿Qualifications:

  • PMHNP licensure and certification in the state of Indiana required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as an PMHNP in either addiction medicine or psychiatry required
  • MAT waiver required
  • Experience providing dual diagnosis care to patients with co-occurring substance abuse disorder and psychiatric conditions preferred

Qualifications:

  • Neurosurgery clinic or as a bedside nurse, neurology experience preferred

  • Current practice is mostly reconstructive without trauma call
  • Potential to build a supporting cosmetic line if the applicant is interested in that area
  • Actively building a referral base for the LGBTQ community mainly for chest masculinization or feminization 
  • Join a growing practice with a patient-centered approach and supportive staff

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Required
  • Must be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with at least one year of surgical experience. Plastic Surgery experience preferred
