Position Details:

  • 50% each Inpatient and Outpatient
  • Key Responsibilities: Performs pre-anesthetic prep & eval, anesthesia induction, maintenance & emergence; post-anesthesia care and peri-anesthetic & clinical support functions under the direction of an anesthesiologist.

  • Is there the possibility of academics/ research?  Yes.
  • Team:  80 physicians; 23 APPs in practice

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to ED consults and trauma activations while coordinating multidisciplinary care of acute general surgery and trauma patients as evidenced by rounding on, assessing, and treating patients; handling nurse phone calls; and discharge coordination.

From the IP perspective, the overarching goal of this role is extend the surgeon in an effort to facilitate more timely quality care and decreased throughput.

While not immediately, we would envision this position eventually seeing follow up patients in the General Surgery office approximately two afternoons a week. The overarching intent in this instance is to extend the surgeon and greater practice so more patients can be seen in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

If new graduate, must have relevant RN experience
