Qualifications:

Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant:

  • Must have graduated with a Master’s degree from a CAAHEP accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant Program

Indiana University Health Physicians has an exciting new opportunity to be a part of expanding women's health services.  We are seeking to add an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to our collaborative care team to practice and promote full-scope midwifery in an academic health care setting as well as have the opportunity to create and market a new model of care for the Indianapolis region.

Position Details:

  • Full-time position with rotating schedule shared equally among team
  • Outpatient care at the Coleman Center for Women
  • In-hospital births & triage care at the Methodist Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children
  • Procedures include, but not limited to:
    • Vaginal delivery
    • Episiotomy with repair
    • FSE/IUPC
    • LARC placement
    • Vaginal microscopy
  • Onboarding can be expected to be 3-6 months
  • Call requires an arrival to the facility within 30 minutes

Key Responsibilties:

  • Full-scope obstetrical, well-woman gynecological healthcare & family planning
  • Management of Labor & Delivery Triage in an academic health center
  • Educate residents/medical/midwifery/nurse practitioner students
  • Develop ambulatory service programs
  • Participate in community outreach, marketing & departmental activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years CNM experience
  • Must be a Certified Nurse Midwife by the AMCB

Position Details:

  • Schedule:
    • Supplemental role only 
    • Pending staffing needs, APP will work Saturday morning shifts as needed. This is a true PRN position. The Saturday morning hours will be approximately 8a-12p ET 
  • 100% inpatient
  • Practice location: IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital
  • Responsibilities:
    • Supervise stress testing - this is the majority of the position
      • Patient volume - Patient volume varies. APP is expected to see up to 8-10 patients per 4 hour shift

    • Collaborate with APP colleagues and attending cardiologist regarding patient needs

Key responsibilities

  • Understand hematology/oncology disease states
  • Provide education to patients regarding treatment plan, knowledge of chemotherapy regimens/schedules/dosages
  • Understand possible adverse effects of cancer treatment and how to treat potential events
  • Effectively communicating findings to patient's primary oncologist/on call physician, supporting nursing staff in clinic with triage, supporting infusion staff with day to day proceedings and potential infusion related reactions  

Qualifications

  • 2 years of inpatient and/or outpatient experience required
  • 2+ years working in oncology, with experience primarily in outpatient setting or an inpatient role w/ experience and understanding of chemotherapy and subsequent supportive care after treatment preferred

  • Patient population: Pediatric general surgery and trauma, Newborn - age 18
  • Key responsibilities: Inpatient care, consultations, and coordination of care
  • Procedures include: removal of tunneled central lines, chest tube removals, suture removals, repair of tunneled central lines, drain removals/respond to traumas in the trauma bay
  • Requires the ability to educate patients and families on medications, diseases, treatment plans procedures, and proactive health care.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, have the ability to work independently and collaboratively, very patient-centric with time and care of patients, and place a high emphasis on productivity and efficiency

NP Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Open to new graduate or practicing Nurse Practitioner, but experience in ICU/PICU/trauma or Emergency Medicine is required
  • Requires current valid Indiana State RN license.
  • Successful completion of nurse practitioner certification required.
  • Current Indiana and federal DEA as appropriate required.
