The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) in conjunction with IU Health Physicians (IUHP), is seeking a highly motivated academic hematopathologist to join its expanding faculty. 

The individual selected will be part of the Division of Hematopathology that provides expert diagnostic and consultative services to Indiana University Health (IU Health) which includes Methodist Hospital, Indiana University Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children, IU Health West, IU Health North, IU Health Arnett and a number of smaller hospitals. The division also serves Eskenazi Health and the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. The successful candidate will join a collaborative group of seven hematopathologists with sign-out activities based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL). The academic rank is determined by qualifications and level of experience.

Position Details:

  • Provide diagnostic services including sign-out of tissue hematopathology, flow cytometry, peripheral blood and fluids, molecular hematopathology and/or coagulation
  • Pursue clinical and translational research
  • Actively participate in educational activities including training of ACGME-accredited and non-accredited fellows

Qualifications:

Indiana University Health Physicians (IUHP) is seeking an Obstetric Gynecologist to join our newest clinic, IU Health Fishers Ob/gyn, as we grow to meet the needs of the community.  At the conclusion of the $287 million community impact project at IU Health Saxony Hospital in December 1, 2025, the practice will include an innovative ultramodern 18-exam room ambulatory suite attached to the newly built state-of-the-art LDRP floor, managed 24-7 by a comprehensive Laborist program.  Services will extend to three Indiana outreach locations in Noblesville, McCordville, and USA Parkway-Fishers. By Jan. 1, 2030, the IUHP Fishers Ob/gyn practice group will comprise of 10 Physicians, 7 Advanced Practice Providers, and 5 Laborists to optimize personalized care for patients in and around the Fall Creek and Delaware townships of Hamilton County.

Job Summary:

  • Serve as a lead technical expert in IUHP Pathology Gross Rooms, providing technical leadership and direction to trainees, pathologists’ assistants (PAs), and grossing technicians (GTs).
  • Oversee adherence to the organization policies and proper communication to and involvement of gross room personnel.
  • Plan, organize, and direct daily operations to include staffing, practice growth and improvement, and laboratory needs. T
  • Partner with pathology administration to work on departmental projects which relate to and/or involve the gross laboratory.  
  • Projects will include process improvement initiatives and continuous monitoring of performance in the gross room.  
  • Have an understanding of the tripartite mission (clinical, education and research) at IU/IUH and possess the ability to work within a matrixed organization involving many stakeholders, with priority being our patients.
  • Responsible for maintaining personnel records related to lab compliance, technical competencies and individual performance reviews. 
  • Will require effective communication, conflict resolution, and change management skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and make recommendations to leadership through data driven decision making.
     

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree from a NAACLS accredited institution 
  • 5 years post graduate experience
  • Active certification as a Pathologist’ Assistant through the ASCP (obtained within 1 year of hire date).
