- Patient population: Pregnant women seeking urgent care for obstetrical and possibly non-obstetrical needs. All Gestational ages are seen through the OBED. Both routine and high-risk patients.
- Expected patient volume in hospital: 15-20 patients per 24 hour shift
- Work directly with 5-7 physicians and 1-2 APPs
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing patients at any Gestational age in the OBED; evaluating, diagnosing, treating and guiding patient care for pregnancy or non-pregnancy related needs.
- A midwife in OBED will also support with labor, births, postpartum rounds, etc. as needed and when available (secondary role to OBED).
- A collaborative approach to care with The Laborist team.
- The Laborist are assuming a higher volume of patients due to provider departures in groups outside of IU Health.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree Required
- Must be PA, ACNP, FNP, WHNP or CNM Certified
- APP experience in women's health or OB setting- preferably in a High-Risk OB facility.
- At least 1-2 years APP experience providing care to pregnant and postpartum patients preferred
