Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical -
  • Daily rounding and management of pre and post-surgical patients in the Pediatric CVICU
  • Handle outside phone calls and discharge coordination
  • Daily progress notes and assisting in the overall plan of care
  • Bedside procedures to include:  chest tube management/removal, mediastinal tube management/removal, pacing wire removals, central line management and intracardiac line management.

Position Details:

• Inpatient: 95%; Outpatient: 5%
• Patient population includes Pediatric, neonatal and adult patients with congenital heart defects both pre and post-surgery

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical -
  • Daily rounding and management of pre and post-surgical patients in the Pediatric CVICU
  • Handle outside phone calls and discharge coordination
  • Pre-op assessment with H&Ps
  • Bedside procedures to include:  suture/staple removal, chest tube management/removal, mediastinal tube management/removal, open sternal wound dressing change, central line management, intracardiac line management, Holter monitor management, and surgical assisting.
• Administrative - 
  • About 10% of time (will vary depending on workload)
