IU Health Physicians - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hospitalist (Methodist Hospital)


IU Health Physicians is hiring! We are seeking a patient focused Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hospitalist team at Methodist Hospital! 

Position Details:

  • Full-time
  • Night shift
  • 3x12 hours shifts
  • Rotating every 3rd weekend
  • Rotating holiday coverage
  • No call
  • 100% inpatient
  • Complex patient population
  • 50-60 patient encounters per week
  • No procedural requirements
  • Night team includes 10+ physicians and 10+ APPs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of care during daily rounds
  • Providing patient and family education
  • Assessing patients in the Emergency Department for admissions
  • Initiating a workup for diagnosis and implementing a treatment plan
  • Perform medical consults for subspecialty services
  • Co-manage with multiple subspecialty services including; orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiology, PVS/CVS, GI, urology, nephrology, etc.

Qualifications:

  • ACNP, AGNP, FNP or PA certifications required
  • If new graduate NP, RN critical care experience required
  • If new graduate PA, hospital medicine clinical rotation required
  • 2 years of APP experience preferred
