Position Overview

  • As Emergency Medicine Medical Director of IU North Hospital, you will expand and enhance your emergency medicine career as you serve as the on-site clinical leader and supervisor while developing and coordinating the clinical service that assures a multidisciplinary, comprehensive, patient-oriented approach to healthcare.
  • The Medical Director is responsible for the appropriateness, quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the medical care delivered within the clinical service.
  • While representing the clinical department, and serving as a liaison to the medical staff, the Emergency Medicine Medical Director will work with the Academic Chair, the CMO, and Nursing and Administrative leadership to:

1) Develop and implement clinical policies and guidelines;

2) Assess clinical activities and performance;

3) Assist with monitoring and attaining fiscal and utilization objectives, and

4) Assure compliance with appropriate regulatory, accrediting and credentialing/privileging standards.

  • Role includes potential market-competitive sign-on bonus and relocation allowance

Position Responsibilities

  • The Emergency Medicine Medical Director will continue to cultivate and maintain knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and guidelines, as well as clinical standards for federal programs and state licensure agreements.
  • The selected individual will collaborate in the development of, and continued compliance with, policies and procedures related to The Joint Commission and other accrediting and licensing agencies’ guidelines and requirements.
  • The Emergency Medicine Medical Director will maintain knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and guidelines, as well as federal program and state licensure agreement standards.
