The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine physician to join our growing Maternal Fetal Medicine Division.  Award winning and nationally recognized, IU Health is the largest and top ranked health care system in Indiana, including 16 hospitals, over 175 clinics and treating one in three Indiana residents.  Additionally, our close partnership with the 2nd largest medical school in the nation – Indiana University Medical School – gives you access to provide innovative, leading edge medicine to patients.  The MFM division provides inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as primary comprehensive care of high-risk pregnancies, fetal ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and invasive fetal treatment. We are affiliated with Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, one of the top children's hospitals in the United States. 

Position Details:

  • INCOME GUARANTEED SALARY with potential to move to RVU based!
  • Procedures include (but not limited to):
    • Prenatal diagnostic procedures
    • Ultrasounds
    • Amniocentesis
    • Echocardiography

Faculty are expected to be active participants in the Departmental and Divisional teaching program, which includes 41 residents and 350 Indiana University medical students annually.  Applicants must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics/Gynecology, have completed a MFM fellowship and demonstrate a strong interest in clinical medicine, teaching and/or research.  Possible academic rank: Assistant, Associate or Professor level.

Salary is commensurate with experience and training. A mix of clinical duties, administrative responsibilities, and research is available. A job description can be tailored to the strengths and interests of the candidate. The Maternal Fetal Physician group operates as an integrated group serving referring providers at four IU Health System Hospitals throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area and Eskenazi Health. The combined annual deliveries for the integrated system exceed 7,000. The IU MFM group and the Level 4 NICU at Riley also serve as the tertiary care referral center for the entire state of Indiana. IU Health has one of the largest fleet of helicopter medical transport services in the nation with a dedicated Lifeline maternal transport program.

The MFM Division has a record of ongoing production of basic science, clinical/translational, and epidemiologic research, including membership in the Consortium on Safe Labor, Obstetric-Fetal Pharmacology Research Units Network and Nulliparous Network of the NICHD. In addition, we have long-standing partnerships with the prestigious Regenstrief Institute for informatics and healthcare research in Indianapolis.
